In Germany, almost one in three people suffers from an allergy. The skin, mucous membranes and respiratory tract are particularly frequently affected by allergic reactions. Allergies can significantly reduce the quality of life and make those affected much more susceptible to the effects of air pollutants.

The air analyzer air-Q provides early warning when allergens and stressful or critical air situations can trigger or intensify allergic reactions.

How do allergies develop?

Allergies are malfunctions of the immune system that manifest themselves in those places where our body comes into contact with the environment. The most common forms of allergic overreactions include asthma, allergic rhinitis (hay fever), allergic dermatitis (neurodermatitis) and contact allergies. The air that surrounds us is one of the decisive factors influencing the well-being of allergy sufferers. This malfunctioning of the immune system can be caused by various environmental influences. Above all, environmental toxins are suspected of causing allergies. Air pollutants are also among the triggers of allergies, causing pollen that is actually harmless to suddenly be classified as an infection. As a result, antibodies are produced. In all subsequent contacts with these harmless substances, the immune system reacts as if it had to fight these foreign bodies. This then manifests itself in allergic reactions.

How does air quality affect allergies?

Protect mucous membranes from allergies

Skin & Mucous Membranes

Insufficient humidity attacks the natural protective layer and dries out the skin and mucous membranes. This not only promotes the development of eczema. Also, the attacked mucous membranes are irritated by pollutants and allergens, which promotes or even triggers allergies.
Protect airways and lungs from allergies

Lungs & Airways

Many allergens enter the respiratory tract as particulates, causing allergic reactions. The symptoms of bronchial asthma and allergic rhinitis can be further aggravated by various air pollutants, such as nitrogen dioxide or ozone.
Protect mental health

Psyche & Concentration

Poor indoor air can reduce the ability to concentrate and thus increase the error rate. The resulting increase in stress levels intensifies psychological strain and ultimately increases susceptibility to allergic reactions.
