Delphine, landlady of a vacation apartment in Halle, knows the problem only too well. After an expensive case of damage, she found a solution with the air-Q air measuring device that protects her nerves and her apartment. In this interview, she shares her experiences and explains how the smart technology helps her to detect problems at an early stage and take preventative action so that she doesn't have to experience such an incident again.
1. you had an annoying case of damage in your vacation apartment that you had to pay for yourself. What happened?
"In 2022, there was an incident in my vacation apartment: guests did not comply with the smoking ban and smoked in the apartment for a week. Despite intensive ventilation and ozone cleaning, the smell of smoke persisted and settled in the furniture. As such damage is not covered by my insurance and I had no evidence against the guests, I had to replace several pieces of furniture and incurred a financial loss of several thousand euros. It was a very unpleasant and expensive experience."
2. how did you come across the air-Q and why did you choose it?
"I chose the air-Q because conventional alarm systems are very expensive and don't solve the smoke problem, and surveillance cameras are obviously not an option. The device offers me great added value and additional convenience and security for my guests by providing early warning of harmful substances. I also receive push notifications as soon as people smoke in my home and can react quickly to prevent damage."
3. you have been using the air-Q for some time now. Are you still convinced?
"Yes, absolutely, it gives me security by informing me of problems in good time and also showing me when the apartment is entered. For example, I can check the key handover remotely. The app provides insightful data and sends push notifications in the event of high levels of harmful substances or access, so I can react immediately. Compared to the previous damage, the investment in the air-Q was minimal, but it offers significant added value for me and my guests and helps to prevent such incidents."
