Mould releases spores into the air, which can be recognized as particulates depending on the type of mould. However, the quantities released are very small. As there is usually a basic load of particulates , the rashes caused by mold spores are unfortunately almost indistinguishable. Therefore, it cannot be said with certainty that a room is mold-free.

However, the risk of mold can also be assessed indirectly by observing various measured values. The air-Q indoor air measuring device detects a tendency towards mold growth, e.g. by monitoring the development of absolute and relative humidity, volatile organic compounds (VOC) and particulates in real time. These can be set in relation to each other and thus a risk of existing mold can be measured. If these values are higher than normal or even increase continuously over a period of time, the source of this increase should be identified - this may already be a mold infestation or signal good growth conditions for mold.
In order to determine an existing mold contamination with legal certainty, a laboratory test is nevertheless indispensable.

With the mold-free index, the air-Q offers a good start for monitoring the mold risk over time.

The air-Q can also be used without WLAN. After the start-up process, the device records all data on the SD card supplied. The data can then be viewed and retrieved at any location without a router using a direct Wi-Fi connection (smartphone --> air-Q). As soon as a WLAN is within range again, the air-Q connects to the WLAN network. The data is then - depending on the setting (cloud upload activated) - also uploaded to the cloud retroactively.

Incidentally, the air-Q can also store several WLANs. It then connects to the strongest known WLAN.

Yes, the brightness of the LEDs on the air-Q can be adjusted via the smartphone app. Thus, a different brightness can be selected for the night than for the day. The LEDs can also be completely deactivated.
