Individual air measurement - tailored to your requirements

Already, the air-Q air quality sensor measures most of the volatile organic compounds in the air and thus hundreds of components that pollute your indoor air. With the new sensors, the air quality sensor now also monitors formaldehyde, methane, hydrogen, nitrogen and ammonia. If limit values are reached here, you receive warnings via LED traffic light technology on the device itself and in the air-Q app. The app's health advisor tells you what you can do: e.g. when it is time to ventilate or how you should react to individual readings. By monitoring a variety of air components, the mobile safety assistant offers you significantly more functions than a pure CO₂ measuring device.

Depending on your choice of sensors, configure your air-Q to suit your requirements. If you have a gas heating system, for example, it is advisable to check the methane content of the air so that you are warned in the event of a gas leak. For fireplace owners, on the other hand, sensors that measure the carbon monoxide content are advisable. We offer you the right technology for your needs. Because the air-Q can be equipped with different sensors. Put together the ones you want and individualise your air measurement.

In the following, we will introduce you to two of our new sensors in a little more detail: the formaldehyde sensor and the methane sensor.

New sensor for formaldehyde (CH₂O): The carcinogenic gas

Originally used as a preservative, formaldehyde is still very common in interiors today. Contained in adhesives as well as plastics, many wood products have been heavily spiked with CH₂O: e.g. chipboard or plywood. The colourless, pungent-smelling substance pollutes the air quality and can affect memory and the ability to concentrate and cause sleep disorders. Since CH₂O is gaseous at room temperature, it escapes from many wood materials and furniture. Improper use can also cause allergies, skin, respiratory or eye irritation. At concentrations of 30 mg/m³ and above, there is a danger to life. According to the European Union, formaldehyde can even cause cancer or increase the incidence of cancer.

The new air-Q sensor is equipped with a sensitive electrochemical sensor that reacts reliably to formaldehyde. For this purpose, the air analyser draws in the ambient air and directs it to the sensor contact. This allows you to monitor your air quality directly on site - without time-consuming and expensive analysis in the laboratory.

New sensor for methane (CH₄): The highly flammable gas

Methane is a colourless and odourless gas and a main component of heating gas. The problem: it is highly flammable and poses a significant risk in the event of a gas leak precisely because of this high flammability. At a methane concentration in the air of 5 to 15 percent, an explosive mixture is formed. If this meets ignition sources such as open flames, sparks, hot surfaces, electricity or electrostatic charge, you risk an increased risk of explosion.

In addition to this danger, methane also causes physical complaints and considerably reduces performance and well-being. In higher concentrations, methane causes breathing difficulties, increases the respiratory and heart rate and can cause low blood pressure with dizziness or even drowsiness. Since methane impairs oxygen uptake, it also causes symptoms such as disorders of the central nervous system, which are manifested by drowsiness, numbness in the arms and legs, mental confusion and memory loss.

Intuitive air measurement & evaluation

With just one glance at the air-Q, in the air-Q app or in the web app, you can see how the air quality in the room is at the moment: via the intuitively detectable coloured LEDs, you can immediately see whether the air is good, moderate or even poor. So you can see when it's time to ventilate. For this purpose, air-Q constantly measures the room air and transmits the determined data to the app. Here you will find detailed evaluations of every gas, every pollutant or every particle: specially evaluated and displayed over time. You can draw appropriate conclusions from the progressions and always keep an eye on your health and performance!
