air-Q App: New function "Influence on indexes"

The new "Influence on indices" function gives you detailed insights into the factors that influence your air quality. Using the percentages, you can see which measured values are responsible for the deterioration of a particular index and to what extent. This allows you to see how strongly various pollutants are represented in the indoor air and how this exposure affects the health or performance index, for example.

In the air-Q app, you can see air pollutants that influence the health index

In the example image, you can see that the low health index of just 20 of the possible 100 % is due to the following air constituents: particulates (PM₁₀, PM₂,₅, PM₁), hydrogen sulphide (H₂S), ozone (O₃) and volatile organic compounds (VOC). The sum of these pollutants leads to a reduction in air quality. By listing them individually, you can take targeted countermeasures and implement appropriate measures such as air exchange.

New design for the display of diagrams

Our revised diagram legends ensure an appealing and user-friendly presentation of your air quality data. We have integrated clear lines for better readability.

Innovations air-Q app: Optimized display of errors & updates

We have not only improved the functions, but also the way in which we present information on errors and updates. With our optimized presentation, you will receive clear and understandable notifications so that you are always informed about any problems or updates. This means you'll always be in the loop, never miss any important notifications and can rely on a smooth, user-friendly experience.

Hints now appear more prominently in the new app

Other important changes in the revised air-Q app at a glance:

Sensor sorting

For an easier overview, you can now sort the available sensors alphabetically by name. You can also use various sub-items to better organize and set the sensors. The items Calibration, Existing special sensors and Indices are available here. Under Calibration of sensors, you can choose between automatic and manual calibration.

In the Special sensors sub-item, you can set factors for the PID sensor and activate several virtual sensors in your air measuring device. The measured values of the virtual sensors Absolute humidity (φ), Noise (Lp), Dew point (Td) are calculated from the measurement data of the built-in sensors and the temperature can be displayed in both Celsius and Fahrenheit. Under the sub-item Indices, you can display the virus-free index and exclude the pollutant VOC from the index calculation. This is useful, for example, if you use a lot of perfume, use strong cleaning agents or are planning a dinner party with wine being served. Because all these actions release fragrances to which the VOC sensor reacts. To avoid permanently high values and therefore alarms or a poor index, deactivate VOC for the calculation of the index.

Saving the settings without restarting

Some settings are now saved without the need for a restart. Now you can set your preferred settings without having to restart the app and enjoy a smoother workflow.

Cloud access switch

We have also added a cloud access switch that gives you full control over access to your data. The (temporary) remote access enables better remote diagnostics. For example, air-Q support can detect defective sensors and offer you a solution faster than if you send the air measuring device in by post.

Repeated alarm when measured value is exceeded

Previously, only a single beep sounded when defined limit values were exceeded. With the update, you can activate the continuous tone switch. This means that the tone is repeated every 30 seconds as long as the value is exceeded. This is particularly useful for toxic or life-threatening measured values such as carbon monoxide. If a single alarm can be ignored, a repeating signal draws attention to itself and can even wake you up in a dangerous situation.

Conclusion

Although you can't see it directly in the app, our developers have brought the app up to date in version 2.0. Using the latest plugins and libraries, they have made the app so fit that it already meets the requirements of the future.

In general, you will notice the following improvements with the update of the air-Q app:

- Structural improvements

- latest versions of IOS & Android are supported

- better scalability

- Increased robustness

- Focus on user-friendliness
