Optimum indoor climate through indoor air analysis: benefits for your health & your home

The quality of indoor air affects your well-being. That's why you should know what's in the air. An indoor air analysis is effective in detecting mold at an early stage and identifying air pollutants that affect your health. You will also find out what measures you should take to improve the air quality.

1. air analysis for a comprehensive understanding of air composition

The air contains a variety of pollutants that enter the body through breathing and can cause health problems and a variety of symptoms. Poor air quality manifests itself in many symptoms. From headaches, poor concentration and respiratory problems to an impact on the cardiovascular system.

An indoor air analysis detects the air components and can help to identify potentially harmful substances in the air. From excessive humidity to toxic gases and pollutants such as formaldehyde to general air pollutants, an air analysis provides a comprehensive picture of the quality of the air in your home. Early detection of such pollutants helps to prevent health problems, especially for people with respiratory problems or allergies. It also reveals behavioural patterns such as incorrect ventilation and helps to identify and eliminate sources of danger.

Good indoor air quality is also crucial for the well-being and productivity of employees in working environments. Here too, an indoor air analysis can help to ensure that no harmful substances are present that could affect the health of employees.

2. how the air-Q room air analysis works

You can carry out an indoor air analysis with air-Q. For your analysis, you will receive one of our air-Q pro measuring devices; on request, we can also send you the measuring device with special equipment - i.e. special sensors. With a large number of sensors, the air-Q detects the components of the air, analyzes the indoor climate and detects environmental influences with scientific precision. The air measuring device records all data in real time. Your professional air analysis is just 3 steps away.

Receive & set up test device

You will receive the air-Q pro incl. 14 sensors for a one-week test phase. After unpacking, all you have to do is connect the analyzer to the power supply via cable and you can start analyzing the room air straight away.

Test phase

With the device, you receive login data for free access to the live data of the air-Q via smartphone app and web app. Using various charts, you can see the composition of the air and the development of the air components. Two LED displays on the device itself show the current air quality of two selected air components. The colored traffic light display shows you whether the occurrence of the air constituent is within the recommended limit values or requires action on your part.

Professional data evaluation of the air analysis

After the test phase, we have all the measurement results and one of our air experts evaluates your data individually. You will then receive a clear summary of your data, including detailed explanations. In the analysis, you will also find information on the measured pollutant levels in a compact, informative report of approx. 3 to 5 pages. Furthermore, all important diagrams of measured values and tips for a better indoor climate are integrated.

3. keeping an eye on a wide range of air pollutants

air-Q pro enables room air analysis using 14 different sensors. This allows a wide range of pollutants to be monitored: particulates (PM₁ - PM₂,₅ - PM₁₀), carbon dioxide (CO₂), oxygen (O₂), sulphur dioxide (SO₂), volatile organic compounds (VOC), nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), carbon monoxide (CO), ozone (O₃), hydrogen sulphide (H₂S), relative & absolute humidity, temperature (T), dew point (Td), air pressure (p), noise (Lp).

4. improve indoor air - individual tips from the air expert

An indoor air analysis not only reveals pollutants in the air and problematic behavior patterns, but also helps you to avoid them in the future. Our experience shows that every "air problem" should be solved individually. Nevertheless, we can give you a few general tips for improving air quality.

  • Ventilate regularly: Adapt your ventilation behavior to the current air quality.
  • Use an air purifier: Use air purifiers with HEPA filters to remove particles such as dust, allergens and pollutants from the air.
  • Set up plants: Houseplants can help improve air quality by absorbing pollutants and producing oxygen. We have measured how plants affect air quality. You can find the results of our experiment in our separate article.
  • Detect & eliminate sources of pollutants: To detect sources of pollutants, regular monitoring of the indoor air with an air measuring device is advisable.
  • Check the humidity: Room air too dry or too high? Keep the humidity in an appropriate range, ideally between 30 and 50 percent. If there is too much humidity in the room air, this can promote mold growth. An indoor air analysis for mold currently works by evaluating the absolute and relative humidity as well as the oxygen content in the air. Accordingly, indicators are used for a mold test of the room air, the presence of which promotes mold growth. Too low humidity, on the other hand, can lead to dry air, which can cause breathing difficulties. Humidifiers or dehumidifiers can provide a remedy if necessary.
  • Regular cleaning: When vacuuming and dusting, you reduce the concentration of allergens and dust particles.

5. focus on costs & benefits

Invest in your health and consider the cost of an indoor air analysis in relation to the long-term health benefits. An indoor air analysis for self-testing is also a preventative measure. By detecting air pollutants at an early stage, you can act accordingly and thus avoid long-term costs, such as building work due to mold.
