Sustainability thanks to the air-Q's ease of repair
air-Q air analysis systems are designed for a long service life. Disposal is not an option for us! That’s why all parts of the device are interchangeable and can be replaced during repairs without having to discard the meter. To assess repairability, we have used an existing index as a basis.
The Repairability Index
The Repairability Index was developed in France and helps manufacturers self-assess their devices in terms of repairability. The index has five subcategories and can be used to evaluate smartphones, laptops, washing machines, televisions, lawn mowers, dishwashers, vacuum cleaners, and pressure washers. The final score is the result of a complex evaluation formula developed by a committee of specialists from the Repairability Index. We drew inspiration from this index and applied it to our air-Q; here, we present the criteria in simplified form.

Disassembly
The air-Q is easy to take apart. Only basic tools are needed. All parts can be replaced, and more than half of the components can be reused.
Criteria (examples):
• All components are interchangeable! It takes fewer than five steps to disassemble it.
• Nearly half of the components can be replaced without tools or with simple tools. For the remaining components, all you need is a Torx 6 screwdriver.
• More than half of the components are removable and reusable—that is, they can be removed and reinserted (for example, to expand functionality by replacing a sensor).

Replacement Parts
High availability of replacement parts and fast delivery times make repairs easier.
Criteria (examples):
• All replacement parts can be delivered to customers in less than 3 days.
• All replacement parts are guaranteed to be available for more than 7 years to parts distributors, repair shops, and consumers.
• We guarantee that our suppliers can also deliver large quantities of most components within three to five days.

• The price of the most expensive replacement part does not exceed 20% of the device's retail price.
• The cost of an average replacement part accounts for only 5–10% of the device's retail price.

Specific criterion
The so-called "specific criterion" describes how easy it is to perform a repair yourself at home.
Criteria (examples):
• Regular updates and information about the various updates available via a change log
• Easily restore factory settings by resetting the firmware and formatting the SD card with the push of a button
