A Sustainable Approach to Cleaner Air

With the air-Q, we are taking a long-term approach and focusing on sustainability and reusability. Thanks to high-quality components and replaceable sensors, the air-Q is designed to be easily repairable and thus built to last. At the same time, we consciously consider our product’s environmental impact and strive to keep it as low as possible.

Local and fair-trade production guarantees quality

air-Q — Made in Germany, Fair Local Production

The air-Q air analyzer is manufactured in-house. However, we cannot do without external service providers, as the manufacture and assembly of printed circuit boards, for example, are highly specialized tasks. For the production of the air-Q, we rely on local contractors and suppliers—not only for our printed circuit board specialists but also for the housing. These short supply chains allow us to constantly monitor quality and collaborate more closely with our partners. Furthermore, this reduces transportation distances and thus helps protect the environment.

The best components from around the world, while staying local

L’air-Q uses the best sensors and components from leading manufacturers in Europe and around the world. Whenever possible, we source from local suppliers and work with service providers in our region.

Components of Air-Q

Calculating Carbon Dioxide

The air-Q's Carbon Footprint — Breakdown

The air-Q is made up of several hundred different components. We have calculated our carbon footprint. In total, we are responsible for 5.56 kg of carbon dioxide emissions for an average air-Q—a very low figure achieved solely through the careful selection of components and suppliers. By way of comparison: manufacturing an average smartphone generates approximately 100 kg of carbon dioxide.

More Trees for Less CO₂ in the Air

PLANT-MY-TREE — Planting Trees to Reduce CO2

The air-Q’s very low carbon footprint is already offset by the growth of one tree (beech) on average within six months. We therefore plant trees in Germany once a year with our partner PLANT-MY-TREE. We base our calculations on an average lifespan of 20 years per tree.
