Comment se calculent l’indice de santé et l’indice de performance ?
The health index is based on the limit values set by the Federal Office for the Environment, the WHO, and the so-called Vienna Health Index. The air-Q health index is always calculated using the “worst” measured value among all parameters at a given moment. For example, if a high level of fine particulate matter results in a 20% deduction and a high level of nitrogen dioxide warrants a 30% health deduction, the health index will be 100% – 30% (nitrogen dioxide value) = 70%.
The calculation of the performance index is based on a different, cumulative method derived from recent studies by various research institutions that have analyzed performance losses caused by certain types of air pollution. If, for example, high carbon dioxide levels in the air result in a 20% performance reduction and high temperatures result in a 5% reduction, the performance index is calculated as 100% – 20% (CO₂ reduction) – 5% (temperature reduction) = 75%.
